2008 Coach Industry Conference Will Be Biggest Yet
Threats and Opportunities facing the coach tourism industry is the theme of the joint Bonded Coach Holidays/Coach Tourism Council 2008 Conference which is being held from 7-9 February at the Holiday Inn in Harrogate.
This major industry event – now in its third year - is being expanded for 2008 to include two half day conference sessions and in response to demand, a full afternoon workshop for coach operators and major industry suppliers. Social events and dinners will provide plenty of opportunities for networking and there will also be a choice of fam trips in this popular coach tourism region.
Key note speakers include Bob Cotton, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association; Mike Monk of ABTA; Steven Salmon of the Confederation of Passenger Transport; Hoda Lacey, chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Travel Industry Group as well as John Johnson of Johnsons Coaches and Ashley Herman of Encore Tickets. Chairing the Conference will be Robin Wilkins, managing director of SeaFrance. InterContinental Hotels Group is the Conference host.
“After just two years the Conference has become the major annual event for everyone associated with coach tourism and we are certain Harrogate will underline this status,” said CTC chairman Sean Taggart.
“Like all travel sectors the coach industry faces challenging times and this is an opportunity to focus on the threats effecting us all while meeting the challenges of expanding and developing coaching for the future.”
Chris Roberts of Diamond Holidays, the chairman of BCH and a CTC Board member, added: “This is a great opportunity for coach operators to get together to face up to the burning issues effecting our industry. It is literally the only time each year when we can do so and I urge everyone to sign up for this important conference.”
